Networking Blog 1:
This is my first blog on Networking.
Do you want to start your career as Network engineer?
Okay! Here I am going to give you few tips to start your career as network engineer. I am also working as network engineer. Networking has been amazing career for me; I got job offer one by one in so many companies (MNC’s & Indian company). There are some giant companies which is specifically works on networking like Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, Symantec, Intel, Dell, Airtel, Ericson, Accenture, Wipro & British Telecom.
In order to start your career, you should get at least a CCNA (Cisco track) or JNCIA (Juniper track) certification. This is just a simple certificate stating that you know the basics of networking such as IP addressing, subnetting, switching and basic routing protocols.
Fresher level jobs are liberal and should challenge you to find new ways to accomplish things. The trick is to find what is interesting to you. Find a job that will help you to grow and spend every minute you get in looking deeper into the technology. Book and class knowledge are good, but you need experience to sustain in the corporates. If you feel that you are unable to get that experience, then you can always setup a small lab yourself either physical or virtual (with GNS3 or VIRL).
Networking is a good field and a person can earn salary up to Rs. 20 lakhs in India and its double-triple in foreign if holding decent experience along with CCIE certification. One can start learning networking by enrolling to CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or JNCIA (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate) Certification.
Networking is good field for every Student such as Diploma EC&E, BTech EC&E or any branch of engineering, even it is good for BCA, MCA, BSC and other graduates or post-graduated student but require basic level of knowledge (CCNA). This is very interesting field and I am enjoying a lot. This career option is bit difficult for girls since these companies are having jobs in shift and having 24*7 support. But not to worry girls if you have talent (knowledge) then you will be placed in each and every company whether it is MNC or Indian company. After experience of 4-5 years you will easily get day shift job.
Don't expect higher salary during initial period. Average salary for networking fresher could start from 10,000/- to 15,000/- per month. I started my 1st job on salary of 20,000/- per month at fresher level in one of the good networking company. This is my first blog and will be taking every effort to teach you guys CCNA in upcoming blogs.
